由细田守编剧和执导的全新电影《龙与雀斑公主》正式确定入选本届戛纳电影节首映单元，将于 7 月 15 日在影节上举行世界首映。这是细田守导演作品首度入选戛纳电影节官方单元，本片也将于 7 月 16 日起在日本上映。
《龙与雀斑公主》中的主要角色由中村佳穂、成田凌、染谷将太、玉城蒂娜、几田莉拉等担任配音。本片讲述 17 岁女高中生小铃住在高知乡村，自幼失去母亲的她和父亲相依为命。小铃原本最喜欢和母亲一起唱歌，但随着母亲过世，她就再也无法唱歌了，并且不知不觉间与父亲也产生了隔阂，渐渐地不再向现实世界敞开心扉，埋首于作曲之中。某天，她偶然进入了集合全球 50 亿人以上、人称「另一个现实」的网络世界「U」，并以「贝儿」这一角色的身份加入其中。在「U」世界中能够自然歌唱的小铃（贝儿）不断发表自己创作的歌曲，同时很快就在「U」世界获得巨大人气。但就在此时，一只形似龙的谜样生物伴随着轰鸣声出现在她的面前。
《龙与雀斑公主》是细田守自《未来的未来》后所执导的第 6 部原创动画作品，也是细田守继《数码宝贝大冒险：我们的战争游戏！》和《夏日大作战》后第 3 部有关网络世界的作品。敬请期待。
