在传出 Regé-Jean Page 将不会在《布里奇顿》中重演公爵 Simon Basset 的消息后，许多粉丝希望这位英国演员至少能在第二季中短暂客串一下。但根据外媒的最新报道，他能回来的概率恐怕很小。
据消息人士透露，《布里奇顿》制作方在 1 月或 2 月联系了 Page 的团队，提出了回归的建议。制作方要求他在该剧第二季的三到五集中客串，拟议的薪酬是每集 5 万美元。但 Page 以「多种原因」拒绝了这一提议，很可能是因为他的角色在第二季中占的分量太少，也可能是 Page 即将到来的拍摄行程实在太满。
总之，他的角色在《布里奇顿》中很大程度上会退居其次，甚至可能没有。因为该剧是按照 Julia Quinn 的书籍来编撰的，未来一季可能是从女主 Daphne Bridgerton 和 Simon Basset 两个角色转移到 Anthony Bridgerton（Daphne 的哥哥）一角身上。
另外，Page 在《布里奇顿》收获关注之后，他的电影事业也有了起色。目前他已经在一些很大的项目中获得了角色，比如说 Netflix 的剧集《灰人》和派拉蒙的《龙与地下城》，因此他的离开在很大程度上也可能是因为档期冲突而已。
