根据 HBO 大热剧集《黑道家族》改编的前传电影《纽瓦克众圣》在今天传出档期再度推迟的消息。此前本片定于 3 月 12 日在北美院线和 HBO Max 同步上映，现推迟到今年 9 月 24 日线上线下同步上映。
此次《纽瓦克众圣》由执导过《黑道家族》剧集的阿兰·泰勒担任导演，剧本则由剧集编剧大卫·切斯及编剧劳伦斯·康纳尔共同操刀，大卫·切斯还将担任制片一职。本片故事背景则将回溯至上世纪 60 至 70 年代纽瓦克暴力活动频发的猖獗地带，彼时意大利人与黑人时常发生冲突，其中帮派间的火并尤为致命。
《黑道家族》于 1999 年至 2007 年间播出，共六季，曾获得过 21 项艾美奖、5 项金球奖，可谓是非常经典的黑帮题材剧集。可惜的是，本剧主演詹姆斯·甘多菲尼和弗兰克·文森特相继于 2013 年、2017 年去世 。而在此次的《纽瓦克众圣》中，甘多菲尼的儿子——迈克尔·甘多菲尼将饰演年轻时的 Tony Soprano。除去他外，维拉·法米加、乔·博恩瑟、比利·马格努森、亚历桑德罗·尼沃拉、雷·利奥塔、小莱斯利·奥多姆、约翰·马加罗、寇瑞·斯托尔等人亦将加盟本片。
