Vans 传奇滑手 Jeff Grosso 在美国时间星期二上午离世。Jeff 毕生为滑板运动做出了极其重要的贡献，影响深远。在滑板界没有人比他更能代表反英雄式的人物，在 80 年代初期他就敢在大会面前竖中指，他干净利落的滑板风格及说话方式使他成为那个年代最受欢迎的滑手。他在 Offthewall.tv 网站的节目「Love Letters To Skateboarding」对所有年代的滑手都是一个很大的冲击。对于 Jeff 的离世，滑板界的诸多重要人物都表达了哀痛之情。
著名滑手 Tony Hawk 悼念道：「Jeff 是一名真正的滑手。他向年轻一代传授了宝贵的娱乐精神、宽阔的视野和丰富的哲学。能够与他一起玩滑板 40 多年时间，偶尔出现在他的『Love Letters』系列里真是我莫大的荣幸。Jeff 真真切切地热爱着滑板，他有着一颗反叛之心。我们俩上次还在一起谈论到，居然至今还在以滑板为生，并且还有人关心我们在做的事，这真的太荒唐了。我相信之所以有人在乎，很大一部分原因出自 Jeff 这个人。滑板历史上能拥有 Jeff 这样的传达者真的是一件无比荣耀的事。他也是位好父亲，相信大家都能看得出来。 谢谢你 Jeff，言语无法表达我们有多想念你。」
