著名滑板杂志《TransWorld SKATEboarding》创立于 1983 年，距今已经有近 36 年历史，其不仅践行了 “Skate and Create” 的宗旨，更定义了滑板摄影的高度，制作了众多滑板文化最具代表性的视频，地位与《Thrasher》并驾齐驱。
而早前就已经有消息称《TransWorld SKATEboarding》有停刊的风险，发行公司 The Enthusiast Network (TEN) 已经被 American Media, Inc. (AMI) 正式收购，并且半数 TEN 的员工被裁员，订阅《TransWorld SKATEboarding》的粉丝收到 2019 年 4 月刊之后，取而代之将会收到一本名为《Men’s Journal》的杂志，这是一本针对普通公众的男性杂志，与滑板无关，主题是健身、运动和旅行…
作为不少滑手从少年时代便跟随的滑板文化杂志，《TransWorld SKATEboarding》的停刊将是滑板媒体领域的重大损失。不过近日他们也通过 Instagram 对粉丝进行了感谢，称 TWS 仍然会以数字方式进行下去，比如 5 月份将释出滑手 Daewon Song 的纪录片，网站、YouTube 等频道的优质内容不会停止，并考虑发行限量版印刷物。
