女子 4×100 米接力美国队重赛晋级，中国队被挤掉无缘决赛

里约奥运会仍在激烈进行，在当地时间 18 日上午举行的女子 4 x 100 米接力预赛中，中国队获得了 42 秒 70 的好成绩暂列预赛第八名。而一向实力强劲的美国队却在交接时发生重大掉棒失误，最后一名完成比赛。

但赛后美国队立即向赛事组委会提出申诉，称是巴西队犯规在比赛中碰到了美国选手才导致掉棒。随后组委会通过了美国队单独重赛的申诉，并取消了巴西队的成绩，这次美国队跑出了 41.77 秒的成绩，排名第一顺利晋级决赛。然而原本位列第八的中国队也无奈被挤掉，无缘决赛。
