GUCCI 不久前上架的一件毛衣将品牌推入了舆论中心，这件黑色的毛衣可以将脸的下半部分遮住，嘴部的镂空周围用鲜艳的红色勾画出了嘴唇的形状，这个设计被直指影射 “Blackface”，具有种族歧视的意味。Blackface 是一种涂黑脸、画红唇的化妆方式，是对非洲裔美国人的刻板印象，美国历史上白人曾以这种形式取笑黑人。
舆论发酵后，GUCCI 于上周在 Twitter 上发表官方道歉并将该商品下架，但网友对这一道歉并不买账。在本周一晚上，GUCCI CEO Marco Bizzarri 向公司员工写了一封道歉信，表示 ”我们犯了一个很大的错误”，周二时创意总监 Alessandro Michele 也用一封信来表示歉意，并将这封信发给了 GUCCI 的每一个员工。而就在不久前，Prada 也曾陷入类似的风波，将一款带有红唇的黑色玩偶下架。
