《死亡搁浅》主角山姆扮演者诺曼·瑞杜斯在日前举行的《行尸走肉》圆桌会中向 IGN 巴西合作媒体 AdoroCinema 表示，他认为目前小岛工作室正在制作《死亡搁浅》续作，目前双方团队正在进行商讨。
在去年 3 月 10 日，诺曼·瑞杜斯就表示正与小岛工作室就项目进行谈判。在当时的采访中，他表示正与小岛秀夫讨论做一些《死亡搁浅》相关的内容，而这可能正是将于 9 月 24 日登陆 PS5 的《死亡搁浅》剪辑版。
需要注意的是，小岛秀夫曾明确表示《死亡搁浅》的新作将从零开始，甚至可能与前作在玩法和机制上完全不同，因此也让我们期待究竟他会给我们带来什么样的惊喜。尽管小岛秀夫已于本月迎来他的 58 岁生日，不过他仍然会继续给玩家带来精彩的游戏。按小岛的话说，「在我大脑失去创造能力之前将继续努力创作」。
