据外媒报道，环球影业旗下 IP 系列电影《速度与激情》，将以系列第 11 部电影《速度与激情 11》作为收官之作，正式为这个已经近 20 年的系列电影正传画上句号。而在《速度与激情 9》中回归执导，曾经执导了系列第 3、4、5、6 部的导演林诣彬将会继续执导电影之后的两部作品。
报道同时指出，《速度与激情 11》并不意味着，环球影业将会停止开发这一时间跨度 20 余年的 IP 作品。《速激 11》将会作为范·迪塞尔主演的多姆以及他的庞大「family」正传故事的收束，但《速激》中其余角色的衍生作品依旧将作为环球影业未来的开发项目之一。此前，由「巨石」强森和杰森·斯坦森主演的系列首部外传作品《速度与激情：特别行动》已经与 2019 年上映，并取得了不俗的票房成绩；而 Netflix 在去年年末也推出了《速激》动画剧集《速度与激情：特工飞车手》，第二季《速度与激情：特工飞车手 里约》也已经在这个月月初放出。
《速度与激情》系列最新作《速度与激情 9》原定将于今年 5 月 22 日上映，目前受北美疫情影响，已经延期至 2021 年 5 月 28 日上映。本片由林诣彬回归执导，除去范·迪塞尔、米歇尔·罗德里格兹等主演回归外，多姆团队老成员韩在预告中「死而复生」，而约翰·塞纳则将在片中饰演多姆的弟弟 Jakob。
