正如之前的流言所预测的那样，Apple 果然发布了红色的 iPhone 7 和 7 Plus。不过这抹红并不是国内“果粉”翘首以待的“中国红”，而是国际抗艾滋病基金的 “PRODUCT（RED）”。这两款红色的 iPhone 背面采用了大红色金属外壳，背后的苹果标志选用了和手机屏幕相同的白色，配置方面则与之前发售的 iPhone 7/ 7 Plus 没有区别。对于即将发售的两款新手机 Apple 的首席执行官 Tim Cook 说：“自从我们 10 年前与（RED）合作以来，我们的消费者们通过购买合作产品为对抗艾滋病奉献出自己的力量。从最初的 iPod nano PRODUCT（RED）特别版本，到如今的以 Beats 为主的电子产品配件系列。这次特别版红色 iPhone 的面市也是为了庆祝我们之间 10 年的合作关系，我已经迫不及待想把它们带给消费者们了。”
（RED）的首席执行官 Deborah Dogan 补充说道：“在这个国际基金组织中，Apple 是最大的捐赠机构。做为（RED）的合作伙伴，他们已经向我们捐款超过一亿三千万美元。这次我们和这个全球最受欢迎的智能手机制造商一道，既为非洲南撒哈拉地区提供了可以救命的抗病毒药物，又给全球消费者带来了一款如此惊艳的手机。”两部红色的 iPhone 将在本周五在 Apple 官网和各个门店统一发售，售价 6188 元起。
